Our Mission

Improving Lives Through Strategic Grants

Al Basma Foundation is a non-profit organisation that aims to improve the lives of women and children in the Middle East, South East Asia and Africa. Our organisation focuses on providing education, health care, and economic opportunities to empower these communities.

Our goal is to help women and children become self-sufficient and contribute to the development of their communities. We work with implementing partners on the following objectives:

To provide education and training to women and children, enabling them to develop the necessary skills to improve their lives and contribute to their communities.
To improve access to healthcare and nutrition for women and children in impoverished communities, reducing mortality rates and improving overall health.
To promote economic development in these communities, providing opportunities for women and children to earn a sustainable income.
To respond to disasters as they arise, ensuring women are central to the response.

To ensure the quality of the projects, the Foundation relies on the consulting services of Philanthropy Advisors, a strategic philanthropy consulting firm established by humanitarian professionals. This partnership ensures every grant we make is accountable, evidence-based, and designed for lasting impact.

After studying Business in France and Wales, Sylvie rose to the top of Mademoiselle Agency as CEO. Eager to share her achievements with those in need, she founded Al Basma Foundation to channel resources toward lasting humanitarian change.

Pascal Grincourt

Admin

In charge of international relations and finances at Mademoiselle Agency, Pascal's extensive global travels exposed him to the vulnerability of women and children in disadvantaged communities. He was instrumental in launching the Foundation.

Marie Vachey

Press / Media Relations

A trained nurse and head of editorial at Mademoiselle Agency, Marie found in the Foundation a way to channel her twin passions — helping others and visual storytelling — into purposeful action.

Aliane Uwimana

Models Representative

Originally from Rwanda, Aliane has always had the desire to engage with the Foundation and contribute meaningfully to its mission of empowering women and children.

Sophie Busson

Women & Human Rights Expert

A lawyer and consultant with a LLM in International Law from Fordham University, Sophie has worked with the United Nations and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She co-founded the United Nations Committee on Women in France.

Jérémy Lachal

Education Expert

Co-founder and General Director of Bibliothèques Sans Frontières (BSF). In 2014 he launched the Ideas Box — a revolutionary portable multimedia toolkit for refugees — in collaboration with Philippe Starck and the UNHCR.

The Swiss actress and humorist Charlotte Gabris has been supporting the Foundation since its creation, playing an important role in fundraising efforts and contributing to its visibility in the artistic world.
