Sudan

Action Against Hunger

At the forefront of the fight against hunger for over 40 years, Action Against Hunger's mission is to save, improve and protect lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection, and treatment of undernutrition, especially during and after emergency crises. With funding from The Al Basma Foundation, Action Against Hunger is supporting 22,893 people in Sudan with life-saving treatment and preventative services to tackle malnutrition.

Sudan

Action for Humanity

Action for Humanity mobilises and responds to emergencies and critical needs through humanitarian, development, and peace building action, to empower affected communities to survive, recover, and build a better future. With support from The Al Basma Foundation, Action for Humanity is improving food security for 9,000 displaced and affected people in Sudan.

South Sudan

Amref Health Africa

Amref Health Africa envisions lasting health change in Africa by catalysing community-led, people-centred primary health systems. With the support of The Al Basma Foundation, Amref is expanding access to quality maternal and newborn health services in Greater Tonj, South Sudan, where maternal mortality remains among the highest in the world, by strengthening emergency obstetric care, midwifery training, and health facility resources.

Lebanon

Beit el Baraka

A Lebanon-based charity supporting Lebanese people living in poverty. With funding from The Al Basma Foundation, Beit el Baraka is enhancing food security for 1,050 displaced people in Beirut by providing hot meals as part of the emergency response. Additionally, 155 families in Beirut and Mount Lebanon are receiving monthly food parcels over six months.

South Sudan

Concern Worldwide

Dedicated to reducing suffering and working towards the elimination of extreme poverty, Concern Worldwide operates in the world's poorest countries. With funding from The Al Basma Foundation, Concern Worldwide is improving access to maternal healthcare for highly vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities in Aweil North, South Sudan, aiming to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity.

Pakistan & Lebanon

READ Foundation UK

READ Foundation UK provides accessible, inclusive and quality education, equipping children and youth with the knowledge and skills to shape their futures with dignity. The Al Basma Foundation is supporting two projects: reducing early child marriages through education in Sindh, Pakistan, and providing education and emergency support to refugees and displaced children in Southern Lebanon.

India

Rotary Club of Calcutta Metropolitan Trust

In operation since 1986 supporting people in India, the Trust runs the PACE Learning Centre — a school providing safe, inclusive education for over 250 girls near Kolkata. The Al Basma Foundation is sponsoring the education of 23 girls at the school.

Nigeria

Street Child

Street Child is dedicated to advancing educational opportunities, economic empowerment, and protection measures for the world's most underserved communities. With funding from The Al Basma Foundation, Street Child is working in Nigeria to financially empower 270 women caregivers by supporting them to start a small business and connect 540 of their children to education.

The Circle of Women

The Circle economically empowers and ends violence against marginalised and vulnerable women across the world. With funding from The Al Basma Foundation, The Circle is empowering survivors of Gender Based Violence in Nigeria through training and skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to obtain employment, independence and remove the stigma associated with being a GBV survivor.

Liberia

The Helen Loewenstein Memorial Trust

The Trust supports initial midwifery training in Liberia, paying course, accommodation, and essential equipment fees for Liberian student midwives who would otherwise lack sufficient funds to qualify. The Al Basma Foundation is sponsoring the fees of student midwives so they can complete their degrees and qualifications.

Afghanistan / Scotland

Linda Norgrove Foundation

The Linda Norgrove Foundation's primary goal is to help women and children in Afghanistan — the innocent victims of decades of political turmoil and conflict — through education, health improvements, and income support. The Al Basma Foundation is providing essential funding to enable 18 Afghan women, supported by the Foundation, to complete their medical studies in Scotland.

Palestine

Humanity & Inclusion

An independent charity working in situations of poverty, conflict and disaster to help disabled and vulnerable people meet their basic needs and uphold their dignity. The Al Basma Foundation is contributing towards their response in Palestine, covering specialised healthcare, Explosive Hazard Assessments, and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education sessions for thousands of people.

Syria

Première Urgence Internationale

PUI helps civilians who are victims of war, disasters and economic collapse to regain their autonomy and dignity. With The Al Basma Foundation's support, PUI is supporting the integration of out-of-school children into a quality, safe and resilient formal education system in Syria.

Pakistan

Karachi United

Karachi United uses the power of football to create healthy, happy, and inclusive communities. With support from The Al Basma Foundation, Karachi United is empowering 100 adolescent girls from marginalised communities in Karachi, using football to promote health, wellbeing, and sexual and reproductive health and rights while building confidence, leadership, and life skills.

Jordan & Lebanon

War Child

War Child works to ensure a safe future for every child affected by war. Through the partnership with The Al Basma Foundation, War Child is helping children in Jordan and Lebanon access quality education through the 'Can't Wait to Learn' programme, improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for 3,150 vulnerable primary-aged children, including refugees and internally displaced children.
